Code of Conduct

Indonesia Weekend Anthro Gathering (IWAG) is a celebration of us, for us. This is a private place for us to enjoy, not for the public. For the sake of everyone's safety, the smooth running of the event, and maintaining the reputation of our community we have made some rules. By attending IWAG, you agree to comply with these rules and follow all instructions from our team.

Registration and Authentication

To ensure a smooth check-in process at the event, make sure you bring your official identification for us to match with the details you have shared. Don't worry about small differences like abbreviated middle or last names. We understand and will understand.

Your privacy is very important to us. We will handle your details with care and keep them confidential. We will use the personal information you provide for event purposes. We will not share it with other parties unless required by law.

We need you to show your official ID when registering, but we will not store your ID in other media. We will only use our own eyes to ensure that the data matches your identity.

IWAG is open to anyone aged 14 and over. For young friends under 17 years old, remember to bring a signed consent form. You can download it here. You also need to bring identification such as

  • Your Youth KTP (Pink KTP),
  • Student Card, or
  • Photocopy of your Family Card.

The document should show your date of birth and legal name.

What to Bring (and What Not)

We want to make sure everyone enjoys the event, so you need to keep away some items:

  • Smoky Stuff: This includes cigarettes, cigars (wow!), e-cigarettes, and vapes.
  • Alcoholic Beverages: Let's keep the atmosphere cheerful with just our enthusiasm!
  • Projectile Weapons: Of course, firearms are not permitted. For toys such as Nerf Guns, airsoft, or water guns, Please make sure they are empty, unloaded, and clear of any projectile!
  • Controlled Substances: If we find these items, we will inform the authorities.

Some exceptions:

  • Dealers may bring box cutters and scissors, but only for use in the Dealer Room.
  • Fursuiters may bring sewing equipment. We understand accidents can happen.
  • Role-players may bring props that resemble weapons but are not sharp or not made of metal. We will need to mark it on a zip-tied label.

Please note, that if we find any of the above items in the event, we will hold them until you are ready to leave.

Your Badge

Your badge is a special key to accessing IWAG events. Wear it with pride and make sure it's visible throughout the event. If you find a missing badge, please hand it in to our reception desk, unless you recognize the owner. Lost your badge? No need to worry, visit our reception, and we'll check if anyone has returned it.

Important note about badges:

  • Please only use authentic badges. We will ask anyone with a copy or fake badge to leave the event.
  • You can personalize your badge with an image or drawing, as long as the name and badge number are still visible.
  • Our staff, venue team, or law enforcement officers may ask to see your badge and the ID card used to collect it. Please ensure your badge is always available.
  • Do you want to bring badges from the previous IWAG iteration? We appreciate your gesture, but please only use the latest iteration's badge. You may bring badges from other events, but only this year's IWAG badge is valid.

We do not allow sharing badges. This may sound trivial, but it can compromise the security of the event. If you share your badge with someone who breaks the rules, we will held you accountable for their actions. Let's play it safe and keep the badge personal. In the event of badge sharing, we will ask all involved parties to leave the event.

Your Stuff

Upon entering the event, we will perform a brief bag check. If we find items that are not allowed, we will store them until you are ready to leave. Remember, that if we find controlled substances or hazardous materials, we need to report it to the authorities and you will not be able to attend the event.

We understand you may be carrying valuable items. Make sure to store it safely. If you find something left behind, our receptionist is ready to help. Miss something? Check with the receptionist, your items may already be there waiting for you!

Upholding the Spirit of Our Community

As we have fun and bond with fellow furries, remember that our actions and words reflect the IWAG code of ethics. Courtesy is our guiding principle. Being polite and accommodating not only enhances the atmosphere but also makes the event fun for attendees of all ages!

Creating a friendly and welcoming environment is our shared responsibility. We do not allow discrimination, harassment, or derogatory comments based on their identity. Harassment can take many forms, including but not limited to,

  • Stalking,
  • Offensive comments, or
  • Unwanted physical contact.

This type of behavior is not accepted at IWAG.

If you feel uncomfortable with someone's actions, we encourage you to start a dialogue. A friendly, understanding conversation can often resolve the problem. If the situation does not improve, report it immediately to IWAG staff. You need to notify us as soon as possible, as dealing with issues after the event has ended can be more difficult.

We have a zero-tolerance policy towards violence and threats. If you encounter a situation like this, contact the authorities first. Then provide us with the relevant details.

Fursuiting Guidelines

At IWAG, when you wear a fursuit, you are not just a participant, you are the face of our community. This applies not only inside the venue but also when you are in a public place next to the event. It is important to keep this in mind.

Our fursuited events are designed to be family-friendly and suitable for a wide range of age groups. The fursuit you wear must also be suitable for all ages. Make sure that your fursuit is not "anatomically accurate" or too revealing. Inappropriate attire, including indecent costumes or controversial symbols, is not permitted.

Lastly, remember that wearing a fursuit can make you sweat, so make sure you and your fursuit stay fresh and clean.

Regarding the schedule, our organizers will inform you about fursuit events. Make sure you are on time. You also need to prepare everything you might need, such as hydration or handlers. Your comfort and safety are your responsibility. IWAG staff are there to facilitate, not to meet individual needs.

We have prepared a special room for our fursuiters, where you can dress up, freshen up, or rest. This space is monitored to ensure the safety of your equipment. We recommend that you use this area to avoid costume-related incidents.

For bystanders, understand that fursuits can limit your vision and hearing. We urge fellow attendees to be careful and provide enough space for fursuiters. Avoid sudden or unexpected interactions. Respecting personal boundaries is very important. Remember, every fursuit and costume is a work of art. So, before approaching or interacting, ask permission first.

Dress up in a Fun Way

Here are some guidelines regarding clothing that you should keep in mind.

First, let's keep our clothes animal-friendly by not using real fur.

If you wish to use body paint, please visit our Operations desk for approval. This is necessary to prevent damage to the costumes and venue. For facial makeup, you don't need to worry, just be careful when applying it.

When dressing, make sure to keep it family-friendly and appropriate to the atmosphere of the event. Avoid clothing that is too provocative, which may cause confusion, complaints, or objections. Inappropriate items of clothing include but are not limited to:

  • Indecent costumes,
  • Costumes with controversial symbols,
  • Costumes with fetishistic elements, or
  • Uniforms from real organizations, both government and private.

If you have a costume idea that might be on the edge of these rules, please consult with Operations for approval.

Say Cheese!

Always ask permission before taking photos. Considering that we are in a public space, sometimes you might end up in the background of someone's photo.

Photos taken by the official IWAG crew are the property of IWAG and we may use them in our promotional materials. If you have any objections to photos taken by our official crew, please inform us. We will try to accommodate your request as best as possible.

Play By the Rules

If someone violates our Code of Conduct, consequences can vary, from a warning to removal from the event. However, our IWAG team always strives to focus on understanding and empathy. If you feel like something is wrong, or that certain situation is not handled properly. Our directors are always ready to listen.

We also uphold personal responsibility. If someone's actions cause damage or pose a safety risk, we hold them accountable. We might include law enforcement if necessary.

Liability Waiver

By participating in IWAG, you acknowledge with these terms:

  • You agree to follow all rules and follow the instructions of the IWAG organizer and event venue. You acknowledge that any violations or damage caused are your responsibility.
  • You acknowledge that every transaction that occurs during IWAG is the responsibility of the seller and buyer. Both parties must follow local regulations, and IWAG is not responsible for such transactions.
  • You agree that your identity is tied to your badge. Violation of the IWAG Rules of Conduct or venue rules may result in revocation of your badge without refund and even permanent cancellation of membership.

Our team is committed to providing a fun, safe, and inclusive experience for all participants. Although we strive to follow safety and health guidelines, we cannot guarantee that all risks can be eliminated. We are not responsible for any actions taken by or affecting participants, or any damage, injury, or loss incurred during the event, other than obligations required by Indonesian law.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
